Stereotype is a generalization of a group of people where we classified them as a group just based on what others had said on them. It is always standardized by a group based on some assumptions or belief. Media also contributed a big part in stereotype. It spread this type of concept on peoples mind more widely.

As shown in the video that the Arabian is always portrayed as terrorist, bandit, thief or dangerous people. People from outside will think that Arabian is really like that as media had plant a strong image on my mind in tv, movies, advertising. It applies especially after the 911 incident between America and Arab. Osama bin Laden also make an impression for peoples besides than Arabian to think that Arabian is terrorist or bad people.



The common stereotype can be seen is women stereotype. There is many example of stereotype around us. Stereotype like African people is very poor and uneducated. They was always seen to be living in jungle where they have not much to eat. These are seen largely in television and magazine.



 Black peoples are also victims in stereotype too. People often assume that black people are the bad guys who often done bad things and loathing around. In Malaysia, black people like Negroes and Africans are people who make troubles or thief. People tends to afraid to go near them. I was also being advised to not getting too close with the black people before I enter the university. I think is not fair as after I get to know of them. I see they are not exactly like what others had been think of.

There is also other stereotype like Asian country people like China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan is poor in English. Tomboy is likely to be lesbian. Malaysian people is bound to favor durian and spice. All of these are some example on stereotype.



There is just so many of stereotype through media. people will easily gather information thus it make stereotype more devastated. People shouldn't just look things from one view. Stereotype tends to make people judge less and follow blindly. This is a bad things. We should not determine anything base on what others said but through our own understanding.
